Yuki Tessler

Born in Saitama, Japan, I worked as a freelance stage lighting designer in the entertainment industry in Tokyo for 10 years in my 20s. In my 30s, I immigrated to Australia and became interested in pathology. After obtaining my qualifications, I worked for seven years at anatomical pathology laboratory in Australia. Although I enjoyed a comfortable life in Australia, I was fascinated by the architecture, townscape, and culture of Europe and moved to the Netherlands with my family in 2019. As my overseas life has extended, I has developed a strong empathy for the depth and spirituality of Japan’s traditional culture, and is now offering Kintsugi (Japanese restoration)/lacquerware works at workshops.

日本の埼玉大宮市で生まれ、２０代は東京でフリーランスの舞台照明家として１０年間エンターテイメント業界で働く。３０代からオーストラリアへ移住、病理学の勉強に目覚めて資格取得後オーストラリアの病院附属解剖病理学ラボで７年間勤務。自然豊かオーストラリアで快適な生活をしていたもののヨーロッパの建築、街並み、文化にあこがれ家族で２０１９年からオランダへ移住。海外生活が長くなるにつれ日本の伝統文化の深み、精神性に強く共感し、今は個人事業主として金継ぎ/漆塗り作品の制作、ワークショップなどを提供しています。
